In the issuance of visas by the Indian embassy the Indian -American community has complained about the inordinate delay. The complaint says the the delay is mainly due to the imposition of the new laws and shortage of workers in different consulates. A peaceful protest was even staged by the community at different Indian consulates in US,Houston,San Fransisco and Chicago.

At present the community wants to raise the issue further with some of the top officials with Government of India. The issue by the community will be staged during the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas which will held during next month in New Delhi. In a similar situation three years ago the outsourcing of visas of Indian Ambassador Ronen Sen didn’t work out. Places like San Francisco,Houston just delay the issuing of visas by four weeks but here it takes a long time.

The strict enforcement of the new rules are the reason says the issuing authorities and say the example they have learned from Headley. The plotter behind the Mumbai attacks was David Coleman Headley had caused deadly attack as we know which the authorities have learned their lessons. Every passing day the problem is compound stated the Los Angles based Inder Singh who is the President of Global Organization of People of India Origin(GOPIO). During the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Singh will going to New Deli and have a meeting held at the Town Hall and discuss with Susmita Thomas.
