Hand luggage can now cost you money, if you are traveling by Spirit Airlines. The airlines which is based out of Miramar, Fla, is a privately held airlines with most of its flight predominantly meant for tourists from all major airports in US. The airlines have now introduced cost for hand luggage that would be kept in overhead bin. Ladies purse or laptop bag that can fit under the seat are free to be carried. But anything else like diaper bags, hand luggage would come with a cost as much as $45 for a person.

If the charges are paid during the check in, at the airport then it is $45 per person, else if it paid in advance, then it is $30 per person. The airlines management has remarked that it would help in de-boarding the passengers faster and would mean more in-flight security.

But this new charge of the airlines have been condemned by the authorities. They have come down heavily on the airlines terming the step as ridiculous one.
