Stanford University has identified the baldness cure which may lie in discovered gene. The new gene may help for hair growth which was the article appeared in the journal. The other treatments of future research and male pattern baldness may be affected by the discovery. The name of the gene is APCDD1 reported the researchers who discovered.APCDD1 is the gene which causes progressive form of hair fall from childhood.

The childhood progressive form of hair losses is called hereditary hypotrichosis simplex. The phenomena of the disease are called as hair follicle miniaturization. Follicle miniaturization has the same features of that of male pattern baldness. Miniaturization is the process which is undergone by hair follicles. The identification of the gene has helped to know the process of follicle miniaturization.

The lead author of the study is Angela Christiano whose is a professor of dermatology and genetics at Columbia University. The genetic data was being analyzed by the team to make this discovery. Pakistan and Italy families were analyzed for hereditary hypotrichosis simplex. The common mutation of the APCCD1 gene was found out in the genetic data. The other form of male baldness is being analyzed to develop effective treatments.

The continuing advancement of science is what is keeping the hopes of the human kind alive.
