The women who have the habit of taking processed meats like salami and hot dogs are prone to ovarian cancer. The higher risk of ovarian cancer was being studied by Australian study. Deadly tumors are kept at bay by taking lot of fish in their diet says the study. The researchers were from the Dr.Penny Webb of gynecological cancers GROUP AT Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Brisbane Australia.
The report was being published in American Journal of Clinical nutrition. The researchers found that the red meat and cancer didn’t have any link. The women who had large amounts of poultry were having lower risk of cancer. The reduction in the intake of processed meat results in more ovarian cancer among women. The women who had increasing intake of poultry and fish were less risk of being affected by ovarian cancer.
The researchers had to reanalyze from older studies of more than 2000 women with ovarian cancer. The research of 2200 women was also analyzed but these didn’t have ovarian cancer and asked about their diet. The women who had 4 servings of processed meat per week had 18 % higher risk of being prone to ovarian cancer. The women who had more fish intake were 24% less risk of ovarian cancer said the report. The risk of ovarian cancer difference was quite small says the researchers.
