The average age of women giving birth to their first baby has gone up. This is owing to giving more focus on career than family. Women these day generally tend to postpone their marriage for the sake of their career. They do not get married until they achieve a self fixed target in their career. After that they get married to their soulmate and hence that delays their delivery age as well.

Sometimes couples want to give themselves enough time before they wish to expand their family. They choose to bear a kid only after the wife turns 30 or more. And by the time, they have their second or third kid, the mother would have been 40 years old.

As per the medical science, bearing a child at a late age , that is, after 35, may result in the child affected by Down’s syndrome. Not only that the mother will lose her health by then and may affected the baby’s health as well and may also risk her life during delivery.
