Fortune to sell its brand to Puma

Fortune, a company which is into diversified consumer products, would be selling their brand Cobra , a golf equipment , to Puma , a German sportswear company. Fortune has told that the sale would include everything related to Cobra like the inventory, endorsement contracts, staff, intellectual property. All staff related to Cobra brand would become employees of Puma, after the deal is closed. Fortune also sells golf balls and shoes apart from the golf equipment.

The deal is expected to be closed in the second quarter of 2010 and the sales would bring a decline in their earnings marginally.

Fortune Brands Inc is the manufacturer of products of home and hardwares, spirits and wine, golf accessories, and office accessories.
