The year 2009 was the best year for Toyota till October month, when it became the Number one player in the US car market unseating the mighty GM. But since then, Toyota has been reporting many quality issues in most of the leading brands of cars from its stable.
In fact it has recalled over five million cars in the last four months, apart from stopping production of major brands for few weeks to address the quality issues.
Now the company is heading for apologizing to the US congress which is upset with the continuing safety issues in Toyota cars. This does not augur well for the Japanese car maker, as the negative media coverage is forcing many potential customers away from the brand.
