The Obama administration is having sleepless nights in the last few weeks on the ticklish Afghanistan issue. It is seriously thinking of getting out of the country as it has not been able to achieve anything in the last eight years. But there is a big cost to such withdrawal. While it would bring immediate relief to the thousands of American soldiers and their families, it might end up helping the anti-US terrorists in a big way.
Afghanistan can once again become the epitome of terrorist activities and it might pave the way for another massive attack by the terrorists against US and its allies anytime. Then Obama might have to take serious decisions like going in for carpet bombing or atom bombing of Afghanistan and Pakistan border areas, which is also not an easy task.
