Bank closures continue in US

The US banking industry continues to face closures every week and this week it was the turn of Corus Bank which faced closure by the regulators.

The Chicago based bank has 11 branches with over 6.6 billion dollars in deposits. This brings the number of closures this year so far , to 91. This is nearly three and a half times the 25 banks closed during the entire year 2008.
