Did north sudan supply those deady arms which were sued in attacking the barges which carried the UN food aid on sunday? That is the big question now.

On Sunday, 27 barges were attacked and looted by gunmen to stop emergency food aid reaching a rival group. North Sudan has been accused of providing those arms.

A governing party leader in South Sudan told that arms were being distributed in the south to spread dissent between rival groups. He said Khartoum wanted to destabilise the region before a referendum on southern independence due in 2011.
