Do you love cooking? A lot of us do. Cooking is one vocation which is at once very engaging, relaxing and gives scope for all the innovative juices which are up there in us. But, have you tried your hand in learning to cook in a proper, structured way, say from a catering or culinary institute ?
The advantage with such a training is that you can convert your passion for cooking into a hobby or even a profession which makes money for you. Remember, the best job in the world is to do what you love and make money from that! You will never ever get tired of what you do day in and day out.
There are Culinary arts institutes these days, which teach the fine art of cooking and culinary specialities in about 36 weeks flat. So, in baout 9 months time, you become a culinary expert.
What should you look for if you decided to join such an institute?
One, look at what kind of instructors they have. Remember, what you learn is all about having the right teachers who have the experience. So, if the institute has world class chefs as the instructors, your exposure to great dishes and cooking happens immediately. Two, check whether you get into the kitchen from the first day onwards. The institute should not waste time lecturing around too much. Three, check whether the institute is accredited or not. It should be accredited for it to have academic recognition and value. Four, find out whether it takes in a lot of students or has only a limited number of seats. If only a limited number of seats are there, it means that the institute is very careful about the output that it produces and hence is conscious of its quality of education.
Enjoy doing what you love!
