Cricket was a very slow game. In the colonial times, it they used to play it without any time limits. A ‘test’ match could literally stretch for days at end. Then came the ‘test match’ series versions. They were about 5 days long. One need to take all 10 wickets of an innings and that too twice over to win the match. Then came a shortened version. It was called one day international. They bowled only 60 overs each. Then somewhere it became 50 overs a side.
Then came 20 overs a side game. It was called Twenty Twenty and then it was called T Twenty.
You finish the game in half a day actually. Being fast and furious, keeping it short and simple is the way to go!
