I looked up this word today “apollonian”. It is spelt “ap-ah-LO-nee-an”

It means “characterized by clarity, harmony, and restraint. The one which is calm and serene” .

Where does it come from?

In the Greek and Roman mythology, Apollo  is one of the most important Gods.  Apollo is the God of light and the sun. He is the God of truth and prophecy. He is also the God  of various vocations such as archery, medicine, music, poetry and so on.  He is the sun of God Zeus. He was born to the Goddess Leto.

The word Apollonian obviously comes from this Greek God. And, as the Greek God stood for music and poetry and hence a divine order of beauty, the word ‘apolonian’ also meant being calm, bringing order to the place, which is not any ordinary thing but a divine ordained, beautiful order.

This is also where the name of the voyager “Apollo” series emanated from.
