There are training programs and there are training programs. Typical training programs are pretty boring. You have a classroom session. There is a professor type person who drones away, lost in his powerpoint slides in a darkened classroom full of equally bored particpants. At some irregular intervals, somebody who just can’t sleep keep asking stupid question. That is what typically happens in a class room training.

An outbound training is different. It engages people. Everyone is engaged in it. It involves physical activities under the sun and moves at hectic pace. People who are involved and who finished the activity then get together and disucss their learnings. Since the learning comes from their activity and what they just did, the learnings also tend to stick longer in their mind.
