Doctors were seen as God. That was the image of doctors say about 20 years back. If I have a problem in my body, I go to a doctor. Because, he can cure me. Because, he would tell me what is wrong with me. Because he would tell me what to do, and which medicines to take.

But, now, it looks different. It is all corporatised. It is all dominated by the pharma companies who are out there to make money. Curing people comes later. This results in doctors prescribing medicines which are costlier even though there could be good medicines but which are much cheaper. This results in a situation where if you don’t have mediclaim, you cannot get cured.

We need to do something about this situation. But what can be done is the eternal question.
