With almost all the business and social communication being done online, fewer and fewer pieces of mail are being sent. The figure this year isĀ 11 billion pieces less than the U.S. Postal Service peak in 2006. However more people are also shopping online, so parcel delivery seems to have gone up. Still, the Postal Service has reported a net loss of revenues of $2.8 billion in 2008 . As a result, a stamp will cost 44 cents , up 2 centsĀ and delivery may not be done on Saturdays. US post is also looking at early retirements for workers with 25 plus years of service.
We know that the snail mail crawls. But will it completely stop?
