Any industry running on power needs good backup. Whether it is a small industry needing a very small backup generator or a big unit requiring mega backup power, industries need a backup and a good one at that in terms of a generator.

The generator being bought should be reliable, should be economical – it should not eat up too much of diesel in producing the power and should be to the extent possible, maintenance free.

Cummins Generator  is the typically preferred generator. This is available in different ranges : right from a very small 65kw to a very big 1000 kw power.

Typically, experts recommend diesel generators over the petrol run generators since the diesel generators have better longevity and also have typically lower operating costs. Also, the typical 1800 rpm water 1800 rpm water cooled diesel generators operate maintenance free for about 20,000 to 30,000 hours.

The Natural Gas Generators also are widely preferred and used. Typically, a  1800 rpm water cooled gas generators operate maintenance free for about  6,000 to 10,000 hours. The gas generators typically have a shorter life compared to their diesel counterparts since the gas engines burn hotter .

Power Generator output depends on the fixed engine speed. Most electric equipments in US use 60 Hertz (Hz) while in Europe the typical frequency is 50 Hertz. Typically either 1800 rpm generators or the 3600 rpm generators can be used to get this output. Each of these has its own pros and cons. But, from a cost effectiveness and operations perspective, typically the 1800 rpm ones are more widely recommended.
