World No. 1 Rafael Nadal solidified his position as no.1 and showed to the world as to why he is the no.1. He simply breezed past the Scotsman Andy Murray, 6-1, 6-2, on Sunday to win the BNP Paribas Open. The BNP Paribas open is the the ATP World Tour’s first Masters event of the year. Earlier, Andy Murray won over Federer to reach the finals and meet Nadal.
Nadal won in 80 minutes flat, winning 81% of his first serves. He broke Murray in four of his seven games to win the match.
Nadal is the reigning champion of Australian, Wimbledon, French open championships. He is also the current Olympic champion. Nadal had also won this tournament in 2007. His standing against Murray had improved to 6-2 against Murray.
Nadal had earlier beaten Andy Roddick in the semifinals to enter the finals
