The fact that IPL has moved off the Indian shores is causing some concerns to some people in India. They argue that by moving the IPL, the dignity of India has come down. By moving IPL off the indian continent and moving it to South Africa, the BCCI and the IPL authorities have brought india dishonour.

Is it so?

Let us look at it objectively.

IPL is a commercial venture. There are promises to keep in any commercial venture. Thousands of crores are being poured into that venture. However, if it clashes with the dates of the election and the government says security becomes a problem, what can IPL do? They can do only two things : either postpone it or push it somewhere else.

IPL has chosen the second route. It by no means brings down the dignity of that country. It just shows how sensitive the security issues have become and what a threatened world we all live in.
