Can Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Web browser reclaim its market share which was wiped off by the Firefox? The Microsoft people think they can and with good reason to boot. The Internet Explorer 8 (IE8), had arrived last week. It has come just two years after Microsoft’s last major browser upgrade, IE7, and Microsoft is hopeful that it would help answer the question posed above.
IE8, which can be downloaded free, has cool new features now. It has a “Web slices” feature which lets you quickly call up selected content from a Web page — such as updates from the BBC news service. This can be called via the IE8 favorites bar. It has something called as “accelerators” which make it easier to cut and paste text from one page and insert it onto another page. Microsoft also claims that the IE8 is faster than firefox – but the tech world seems to be divided on that count.
