Taliban is becoming stronger with the tacit support of the Pakistani army and the intelligence agency ISI. The Taliban has been forced out of Afghanistan after the september 11th 2001 attack on US. They have regrouped into a better force over the last few years, due to excellent hide outs available in the porus border with Pakistan.

Every day, a group of heavily armed and trained militants sneek into Afghanistan from the Pakistani border, kill possible number of US and Afghan forces and sneek back into Pakistan. Thus it becomes very difficult for the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan to chase and kill these militants. That is what has forced US to try out Drone attacks which are also not helping much.
